Kitsune Ryu Bujitsu program
This unique system is comprised of four major styles of martial arts: Aiki-Jujitsu; Kenpo; Tae Kwon Do and Escrima.
Jujitsu
Jujitsu is an ancient Japanese martial art dating back to 270 BC, reaching its peak in the 17th and 18th centuries AD. It is a broad, integrated martial art that utilizes strikes, kicks, blocks, throws, joint techniques, and grappling to incapacitate or control an aggressor. This makes it a well-rounded system, perfect for anyone regardless of age, sex, or size. Within its various techniques anyone can find a unique style that fits his or her strengths and liabilities. This art is the great grandfather of the popular art Aikido. The movements have the same basis, with Aikido especially focused on harmonizing with the energy, while traditional Jujitsu is very end result oriented, having been practiced as a means of survival by the Samurai. We use our Aiki-Jujitsu (combat Aikido) as the foundation for many of our techniques.
Kenpo
Kenpo is a hard style combat art using natural movements, multiple coordinated strikes, and vital targets. It was developed first in China (used by Shaolin monks), then Japan (as a secret family art), then in Hawaii (brought by James Mitose) before reaching the U.S. mainland, and has characteristics of all 3 warrior cultures (Kung-Fu, Karate, Lua).
Tae Kwon Do
Tae Kwon Do is also a hard style combat art using a large variety of kicks. It was developed in Korea by General Cho for the military. Due to the Japanese laws regarding occupatin of Korea TKD has roots in Japanese Shotokan. Its numerous styles eventualy split into what is known today as Tang Soo Do, Hapkido and Tae Kwon Do. Later two main organizations emerged as the largest worldwide bodies World Tae Kwon Do Federation (WTF) and the International Tae Kwon Do Federation (ITF).
Escrima
Escrima is a Filipino combat system using sticks, knives, and empty hand techniques for close range combat. It's an excellent system for learning to deal with unexpected attacks, making the hands coordinated on their own.
A systematic approach that joins the traditional arts with a modern emphasis is used, so that rather than separate entities, they can be appreciated as one complete curriculum of study. We teach the arts as one flowing concept so the student will be able to call upon a variety of techniques and adapt to any situation appropriately. Our teaching promotes a philosophy of situation control through self-control, focusing on the mind-body connection. Students practice techniques together, but contact and force will be strictly controlled.
Aikido"The Way of Harmony"
The study of Aikido is a path to reconciling the self with all forms of conflict, internal and external. The techniques, while effective, are designed to lead to a greater understanding of the universe. Study and learn with us as we explore the physical techniques as physical reflections of the metaphysical self, "Ki"
This is a higher evolution of martial arts, in that there is no "opponent" or "enemy", only a situation that must be resolved by coordinating our bodies and minds with the events at hand.
